  1. Hi! i just recently re-discovered TH after stepping out of the fandom around 2013-ish (that´s when i stepped out of my emo/rock faze hehe) ,i enjoy their latest album, but my fellow ex-alien friend and i are wondering which country they live in at the moment? i know they used to live in LA for a while but i´m not quite sure about the accuracy on that now. This is obviously not a stalker question, we´re just wondering since we can´t quite figure it out by looking at the backround of Bill´s instagram stories, haha 🙂
-From an 18 year old girl who used to write fanfictions about Tom and Bill (which i never realized was incest, lord jesus forgive me lol)

    1. Hi there. I’m glad you re-discovered the band, I really appreciate it since they released two amazing album after their break.
By the way, Bill and Tom still live in LA. From time to time they come back in Europe, in Berlin, for rehearsing before a new tour or working on new songs or for simply spending some time with their family.

  2. Hi! I’ve discovered your blog recently and it makes me sooo happy there still are TH fans as dedicated as you. Keep up the wonderful work! As for myself, I’m a “renewed” Alien. I was a Tokio Hotel fan in years 2005-2011 and actually didn’t look them up until summer 2017. Since the very day I recalled my fandom, I’ve been feeling it growing stronger each day. They’re just a kind of band who become a part of your life forever. However, I was too late with catching up with them and missed two concerts in my country 😦 Love reading your blog, finally a reliable source of information which has helped me greatly in catching up with everything Tokio Hotel did in the past few years (now I read your blog everyday 🙂 ). I can’t imagine my life without Tokio Hotel anymore, but sadly, there aren’t any aliens in where I live, so I thought I’ll just leave my comment here 🙂

    1. Thanks so much for your lovely message, Marlene. I really really appreciated it. First of all, because you come back to follow Tokio Hotel and then because you check/read my blog.
I try my best to keep this blog updated not only with news but also with other stuff like Throwback Thursday/Flashback Friday posts, weekly posts in which I talk about their music, videos, my favorite stuff about them, ect. I’m so sorry you have missed Tokio Hotel concerts last year. Dream Machine was definitely a great live experience. Where do you live? I’m sure they are coming back to your country next time too and you are not gonna miss them. Lots of love xoxo

      1. I live in Poland and they always visit my country, but as I said, I had already missed their concert when I started to catch up with them 😦 I live in a rural area, so, aside from my age ((eleven years old when they first visited Poland and I had no one to accompany me because my older sister had never been an Alien and parents were not the case), there were also financial and logistic issues. I wish I had seen Tokio Hotel during Humanoid era, I swear this is my favorite era and album in their whole musical career. Excellent sound, spectacular shows, just pure perfection in every detail. I always wanna cry when I watch Humanoid City Live. Because of the break in my fandom, I’ve learned to love this band even more and value their music more than ever. They have been my pillar of mental support when I had a very hard time emotionally last summer after breaking up with someone I loved and thanks to my renewed fandom, I can honestly say it was the best summer holiday I have ever had. Watching concerts on and on (even my grandma watched all of them with me and she’s totally in love with Bill, she says he’s so pretty 😀 ) and I’m finally the kind of fan I’ve always wanted to be. You know, there’s that feeling that you love those guys and want to support them no matter what. I know lots of people have given up their fandom for good because of the change TH have undergone, but that’s what they have chosen to do, that’s the kind of music they want to make, and, most of all, they have grown up a lot. As long as they’re doing what they truly love, we fans should be happy as well and support them. It hurts to see how people keep throwing venom at the band because of the cancelled shows, I realize they have waited to see them, but it seems there were some serious problems which led to the cancellation of that part of the tour, so why the hate? I’m already making a financial backup for the next concert.
*Actually, my name is Marlena, but I like to use the German equivalent of my name because I was named after a real German girl (the daughter of my father’s employer back in the day when he worked in Germany and always forgot to buy me a Tokio Hotel CD 🙂 )

        1. I wish to visit Poland someday. It looks like such a beautiful place. Humanoid era was amazing too and the album is really great. It was misunderstood because it was in vanguard, it has a sound that weren’t so typical in those years and for this reason a lot of people disliked it. But it’s still great after almost 10 years later. I can understand, sweety. I always had to move to see Tokio Hotel (and the most part of other artists I follow). Doesn’t matter if it was for only 2 hours with car or 1500km, in other side of the country (I live in Italy). Just last year, when I attended the show and met the band in Milan, I hadn’t to move since I lived there because of my studies. But yeah, you need money. No matter what.
You know, especially nowadays with all these social media, it seems too easy to start a discussion that immediately turns into a fight. Any reason is good to start a drama. I always followed the band on my own. I know what the band did for more. What they mean to me. I will always support and follow them. They mean the world to me. If other people don’t like them anymore they are free to leave. I don’t care. Everyone is free to do what they feel. Sending death threats is not the way. There are other artists I could never see in concert because they are gone too soon or who knows if I’m gonna see these artists again. For example Britney Spears. I saw her in 2011, in Zurich, after almost 13 years I started to follow her. This Summer she’s coming back in Europe but I can’t attend one of her shows because it’s hard for me to reach cities like Berlin or London because the airport of my region isn’t huge and there aren’t so many flights and I should go in another airport like Venice, but I should spend another night out before to leave with the flight. I didn’t complain because she didn’t come in Italy. She misses for 14 years. What should I do? It’s not her fault. I had the chance to see her in Zurich. I also think that there are so many people who never saw her.
Go girl! Who knows maybe we could attend one the next Tokio Hotel shows together 🙂 Your name is so beautiful, by the way xoxo

          1. Poland is indeed a beautiful country. I’ve discovered most of it thanks to various concerts I’ve been to (there is one metal band that me and my sister have followed for over a decade and we have already been to five of their concerts, but this year I can’t see them because of my full-time engineering studies).
I also have to love TH on my own, as I said before, my sister has never been a fan of them, she actually used to hate them when we were younger and my fandom was in full bloom. But now, she’s rather neutral. I have one good friend who is also fond of them and came back to follow them together with me last summer, but not to an extent to call herself an Alien. Still, I’m very happy that she enjoys TH music and I can share my fandom with her. When I was in primary school, I used to be slightly bullied for listening to TH, but that was typical of people, judging by the area where I live. Apart from the previously mentioned friend, there aren’t any Aliens around me. At least I don’t know of any. But sometimes I look at it from a completely different point of view. Some songs are so special you just want to keep them to yourself as your little treasure, I mean the less people listen to your music, the more special and personal it is. Especially that some of the songs seem to tell the stories taken from my own life. Personally, my favorite TH song is World Behind My Wall. I can’t even tell the exact reason behind this choice, but I just feel like crying whenever I listen to this song, it awakens so many different feels in me. I still hope to hear this song live one day, it would be the most beautiful addition to fulfilling my dream of attending TH concert. I always find it difficult to watch videos from their gigs/ m&g in Poland because of the heartache that I was absent every time. Especially in the past, when I was all aware they were in Poland, but I couldn’t go see them 😦
I try to do some creative work related to TH, but I don’t have too much time for it, neither do I have enough inspiration. I wrote a poem for Bill recently, but I still don’t think it sounds good 😀 I just can’t help I love the guy.

            1. What’s this metal band? I love metal music too.
Wow I always admired when girls study something that’s more boy-related like engineering and stuff like that.
In general, people still think Tokio Hotel are the same of Monsoon and that’s for this reason they still “hate” them a lot. They aren’t that successful band they used to be and actually in some way I like it, even though there are still drama and the most part of the fandom still acts like it was 2007.
But I’m glad since their “comeback” with Kings Of Suburbia a lot of people, started to appreciate their music more.
That is a really beautiful song. Love it too.
It has to be a really nice poem.

              1. The metal band I mentioned is Apocalyptica. I’ve met them twice in m&g, they’re awesome guys. When I talked to their drummer before the fifth concert, I asked him if he could somehow “help” me and my sister get the drumstick and he almost passed it to us. But aside from Apocalyptica, I also love other bands like 69 Eyes, The Rasmus, HIM, Black Veil Brides and Slipknot. I grew up listening to rock / metal 🙂

                1. I know Apocalyptica and they are great! Oh that’s amazing. So cute! Love metal concerts because when the musicians throw to fans drumsticks or guitar picks there’s no a battle between fans for who’s gonna “win” it. If you got one of this stuff, it’s yours.
The Rasmus are part of my childhood/teenie years. Their new songs are sooo great too. I’m obsessed with Silver Night.
I wish to meet Within Temptation, they are my favorite. Can’t wait to see them again for the third time on December.
Love also Rammstein a lot. Their shows are awesome.

                  1. The Rasmus was actually mine and my sister’s first favourite band. I was about six or seven years old when we got interested in them, and discovering other Finnish bands was just a matter of one year or even less. I’d say Finland has plenty of magnificent rock / metal bands. Haven’t been to The Rasmus concert yet, mainly because of school, but I’ve seen HIM live. That was a splendid experience. I’ve also seen Gerard Way, but I have bad memories regarding the concert. The vast part of the audience were teenies who had no idea how to behave and acted violently and mindlessly and it was unbearable to stay close to the stage because a huge mass of people crushed you every time Gerard moved in a corresponding direction.
As for the studies, engineering stuff is not that bad. I wouldn’t say it’s a typical field for men, my sister is also an engineer but in a different branch. Definitely the bad thing about studying is that your time runs out and you don’t even know when it happens, suddenly you have no time for your interests (well, it’s otherwise when you study what you love, but not in my case) and you come back tired every day. And one more thing, a deadline for the project can truly make everyone an engineer 😀
I’ve been completing my collection of TH CDs and DVDs for the past months and I’m almost done, and I guess I’m gonna make a sort of altar for all that stuff. I wouldn’t believe TH would be back on my walls someday! Funny to see how intense my fandom is nowadays, it’s definitely greater than in the past. Mainly because I’ve learned to value their music. The perception of things changes over time. You get older, you understand more. The lyrics gain the different meaning and carry more and more messages. Also, I’ve learned from Bill that I shouldn’t be afraid to change myself. He’s definitely a very inspiring person and my heart hurts to see how much hate he still gets because of the image that people have built up. TH is not a teenie band, they’re four grown men and they make great music and deserve respect. Unfortunately, the attitude towards TH is quite bad here in Poland. Whether it’s a review of the album or just a throwback article, it’s rare to find a neutral opinion. Can you believe someone who wrote the review of Kings of Suburbia gave it 1 / 10 points? I really can’t understand it. Naturally, the sound was very different when I listened to it for the first time, but I’ve got to love this album. But some things we can’t change, sadly. Oh, and as for my poem for Bill. I can share it with you if you want, but I mainly write love poems when it comes to writing anything. I don’t know if it sounds good, but it’s my dream to write a poem for Bill and give it to him when I meet him in person. I’ve also written a poem based on TH songs where each line corresponds to the lyrics of the certain song. So if you wanna read all of the above, I can share that 🙂

                    1. I never saw The Rasmus live too but I always thought they were great. Yeah, Finnish bands and in general Scandinavian or from the North of Europe are great musicians.
From Poland I know MaRina (Luczenko) I also known her on an US community where I signed a lot of years ago, before her debut album. We exchanged lovely messages and support each other. It was so nice. When she released her debut album, another girl from Poland I knew on Buzznet, got the album for me, and MaRina signed it for me too.
Yeah, unfortunately some artists have a teenie fandom and attending a concert is really tough because of the attitude of the fans.
I have a TH corner too in my bookcase. Of course, we all grown up and we definitely change. I always loved when an artist tries new stuff and explore sonorities. It would be boring if all the albums would be the same. Damn, 1/10 is too little for an album like KoS. I guess that person was deaf. Also here in my country there aren’t a lot of articles about them anymore, if they write something is not about music and this is so sad.
I love that kind of poem with TH songs/lyrics in it. Once I did it too.
Maybe I could open a page here on my blog where other fans can share their creativity with poems, drawings, fan art and stuff. It would be cool!
